PICNIC
09 in Berlin is a collaboration between Malschule Wladimir Prib and
Land Art - Papa Westray.
PICNIC 09 is exploring the idea and ritual of a picnic as an action,
its depiction through the history of art and the future ways of application
and interpretation. Trough Bacchus Feast, which was always depicted
in natural settings, and Manet's "The Picnic on the Grass"
to the utopian novel Roadside Picnic by brothers Strugatsky, which
was the source for the film Stalker (1979) by Andrei Tarkovsky - we
would like to develop the picnic as a place-specific art action
PICNIC 09 is an excursion into the landscape of the urban void, defining
the circles of rituals and interaction with the place, seating in
a circle to shape what everybody is bringing to the place, having
conversations, going for a stroll, submerging into the landscape.
The Picnic will find the way for action (or non-action) in the landscape,
and will establish tools and media and rituals of interaction with
the place |

*24Hours
Non-Stop Action on the Site
is a proposed way of the interaction with the place through continuous
performance / work production. 24 hours are creating the circle of
the changes in the place conditions and in our perception of the place.
Following the light changes, changes in perception and physical condition,
and ceaseless action (similar to shamanic ritual) to achieve a condition
when performance / work production is becoming the place, against
as imitation of the place.
Continuous action is allowing to develop the condition when performance
/ work production will be flowing by the rules of the place and the
selected media (paint, voice, dance, film and est.), or will select
the media.
The action will be developing without reasoning, seeing "mistake"
as an advantage and going through stages of realisation: "I am"
> "what is I?" > "non-I" - till process
is becoming a natural extension on the landscape |

Picknick ist ein Ritual des neuen Anfangs

Ideen
und Vorschläge für das Rahmenprogramm sind herzlich willkommen.
Wer an dem Workshop teilnehmen möchte bitte sich per Mail melden.
Für Fragen stehe ich gerne zur Verfügung. Genauer Arbeitsplan
und Rahmenprogramm werden ca. in 2 Woche an die Teilnehmer verschickt.
Idee und Hintergründ
Organisatorisch:
PICKNICK soll ein jährliches Treffen und Arbeiten werden,
in dem man sich gönnt einpaar Tage etwas neues auszuprobieren,
unter anderen Umständen (freien Himmel) zu arbeiten, eine neue
Idee zu realisieren, sich auszutauschen, Freunde zu gewinnen. Picknick
ist ein offenes Projekt. Jeder kann mitmachen. Jedes mal wird zu einem
Thema gearbeitet. Es ist jegal was man macht. Tanzen, schreiben, Tee
kochen, singen, malen, bauen, etc. Die Teilname am Picknick soll jedem
helfen in seiner Arbeit weiter zu kommen. Es werden keine Gebühren
erhoben. Es soll auf dem Prinzip des Picknicks funktionieren. Jeder
bringt was mit und spendet für Organisation etwas Geld. Für
Materialien sorgt jeder für sich, bzw. tut man sich zusammen.
Jeder entscheidet selber wie viel Zeit er investieren möchte.
Im Vordergrund steht die Arbeit und nicht die Präsentation. Im
Rahmenprogramm können Ausstellungen, Konzerte, Filme, Vorträge
ect. stattfinden. Picknick ist ein Projekt der Malschule Wladimir
Prib und der Künstlergruppe LAND ART - Papa Westray.
Innhaltlich:
Die Lust und Bereitschaft das Gleiche immer aufs Neue anzufangen ist
die Grundlage jedes Lernens und Begreifens. Es ist die Lebensweise
des Suchenden. Und unter Umständen auch des Künstlers. Neu
anzufangen heißt immer aufs neue dem eigenen Unvermögen
den "Kreis zu schliessen" (das Ganze zu überblicken)
bewusst zu werden.
Picknick ist ein Ritual des neuen Anfangs. Es ist der Rausch des Hinter-Sich-Lassens.
Picknick ist aber auch eine Gemeinsame Malzeit.
